Combustion Laboratory Unit
The Combustion Laboratory Unit is a specially designed educational
equipment
for student to learn combustion process. It is composed of several
systems,
such as air system, sampling system, electric system, water system, fuel
system, and drainage system and exhaust system. A medium pressure air
blower is supplied to produce a maximum of 160 kg/h, which is regulated to
a constant pressure of 250-mm water gauge. Cooling water from mains is
required with a minimum flow rate of 1800 kg/h. In the event that the
local mains gas supply pressure is above 500 mm water gauge and below 0.75
Bar the supply should be connected to the inlet of the fixed second stage
regulator at the base of the combustion unit. Drainage should be provided
for cooling water system. The whole set of instrumentation is installed in
this unit, the cooling water temperature, air flow rate and temperature,
flue gas temperature and fuel flow rate will be monitored by this
instrumentation system, a specially designed probe can take the sample
inside the combustion chamber at different locations.
