CATIER lab. to host a series of conferences from Nov. 7-9, 2009. See Call for papers.

Grants

CATIER lab. wins a $530,000 research grant entitled "Software Simulated Test and Evaluation of Military Missions using Positioning and Routing Algorithms, Phase II" by the Science Research Corporation/Department of Defense on June 1, 2009.

Student Accomplishments

  • CATIER Lab. student Akyiaa Hosten wins Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) Baltimore Chapter 2009-2010 undergraduate scholarship on June 30, 2009. The scholarship will be presented in a special gala event to be held in Baltimore sometime in July-August.
  • CATIER lab. graduate student Francis Udenta wins the Conference on Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) scholarship in the amount of $6,000 on June 25, 2009. The award will be presented in Dallas, TX in July 2009.
  • CATIER graduate students Bimal Devkota and Francis Udenta win prestigious Eisenhower Transportation fellowship for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Papers

  • CATIER lab. postdoctoral research fellow Dr. Jawad Abdullah presents the paper entitled "Formulation and Solution Algorithms for Highway Infrastructure Maintenance Optimization with Work-Shift and Overtime Limit Constraints," at the 6th International Conference in CityLogistics held at Puerto Vallarta, Mexico,on July 2, 2009.
  • CATIER lab. director Dr. Manoj Jha and former doctoral student Dr. Sutapa Samanta present a paper entitled "Model for Rail Transit Alignment Planning and Design" at the Annual Transportation Research Board Meeting, Paper Number 09-3082, Washington, D.C. in January 2009.
