Ibibia Karisemie Dappi, Ph.D. is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and the Chairman of the Department of Engineering and Avaiation Science Department at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Prior to coming to University of Maryland Eastern Shore, he was the Interim Chairman, and Chairman of the Electrical Engineering Department at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Dabipi received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics/Mathematics from Texas A&I University. His experience includes working at Bell Communications Research and AT&T Bell Labs as a technical staff member during the summers of 1984 through 1987. He has authored or co-authored many technical articles for publications and presentations. Dr. Ibibia’s research interests include Computer Security and Network Management, Parallel Computing and Algorithms Development, Performance Evaluation of Computer Networks, Optimization of Transportation Networks and Economic Analysis of Transportation Facilities, while his current NASA projects include the Chesapeake Information Based Aeronautics’ Consortium with projects in Image fusion and extraction techniques and Obstacle and feature detection and extraction from LIDAR data. |
