DR. MANOHAR MAREBOYANA

Manohar Mareboyana

 

Dr. Manohar Mareboyana is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science.  He joined Bowie State University in 1994 in the rank of an Asst. Professor.  Before he became full time faculty at Bowie State University, Dr. Mareboyana was a Senior Research Scientist with Universities Space Research Association at GSFC/NASA during 1986-1994 where he conducted research in parallel image processing algorithms and image compression techniques.  He was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at IIT, Madras during the year 1985-86.

Dr. Manohar Mareboyana has been engaged actively in teaching and research. He has developed courses at the graduate level in his area of interest and mentored a number of graduate and undergraduate students.  He has supervised a number of Masters’ theses.  One of his undergraduate student’s papers in NCUR conference (2002) was selected for best paper award. . Dr. Mareboyana has published extensively in reviewed journals in the area of parallel algorithms, neural networks, image processing and compression.  His current interests include image processing, data mining, network intrusion detection and scientific data visualization.

Dr. Mareboyana is the Principal Investigator of several research grants funded by Goddard Space Flight Center, NSF, and APL/Johns Hopkins University.
