Daryl Stone holds a Masters and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Computer Science. His Masters work was
completed in 1994 at Bowling Green State University. He graduated with his B.S. in 1992 from Bowie
State University. He is currently a Lecturer in Bowie State Universities Computer Science Department.
Before becoming a Lecturer at Bowie State University in 1997, he was an Internet Programmer at
Thomson Technology, located in Rockville, Maryland. There he worked on Internet Projects that often
times included web interfaces to a Oracle Database.
Currently, Mr. Stone teaches courses in the area of Internet Programming, Oracle Database Development
and Programming in C/C++. In addition to advising fifty or more students, he maintains the Computer
Science Department’s Oracle Database and Website.
Mr. Stone has worked on two research projects, while here at Bowie State University. The CERI project
was a collaborative project with University of Maryland and Bowie State. Mr. Stone worked with Dr. Ben
Bederson on the Digital Libraries project. As part of a MIE (Model Institute of Excellence) sub-grant
received from NSF/NASA, Mr. Stone is currently researching the use of web-enhanced technologies (i.e.
Blackboard) on Bowie State’s campus. |
