News Image Computer Technology Finds Its Way into the Cockpit Today’s cockpit enviornment is being infused with more technology designed to increase a pilot’s situational awareness and thereby reduce accidents. One of the most intriquing technologies being developed for the cockpit is the Synthetic Vision System (SVS).

News Image Developing Tools for Offline Terrain Visualization One of the key functionalities of the IIFD, is the ability for pilots to view a virtual depiction of the terrain beneath them, regardless of the weather conditions or the time of day.

News Image Fast and Accurate Terrain Modeling For Pilots One of the challenges associated with this technology is being able to dynamically create this terrain model in real-time from the database that holds the raw information about the terrain’s elevation.
