While we conduct a significant amount of research within the software domain, we also have experience with hardware design and implementation. We conduct research involving the design and implementation of prototype hardware for various algorithms. One such algorithm being implemented in hardware is a terrain shadow feature extraction algorithm. The Shadow Detection and Extraction (SHADE) algorithm has been developed to support SVS integrity monitoring. We are working on implementing this algorithm in hardware in order to meet real-time operating constraints.
