A student accepted into the Industrial Engineering Program is assigned to an academic advisor, who
is a full time faculty of the Industrial, Manufacturing and Information Engineering Department. Students are expected
to consult the ISE Department Secretary to determine their respective academic advisors.
Transfer students having earned credits on admission must first meet with the School of
Engineering Transfer Coordinator who evaluates transfer credit(s) and recommends assignment of equivalent course
credit(s) using, in general, a course by course comparison of the courses on the student's transcript from the sending
institution with appropriate courses offered at Morgan State University. Upon completion of their transfer credit
evaluation, the transfer student is then assigned an advisor.
Students are strongly encouraged to meet often with their academic advisor to discuss their
progress and problems with their programs of study.
Students are required to see their advisors to review students' progress and prepare or review their class schedules prior to registering for courses or dropping/adding courses, typically:
a. During Advisement Days for registration of courses by continuing students for the subsequent semester.
b. During Late Registration period for new students and also for continuing students who did not register during previous semester or need to add/drop courses.
c. During Department advising period between due date of mid-semester grades and last date to drop courses for the semester.
Each advisor maintains his/her advisee's academic record as an electronic audit form which is
updated at the end of each semester after the semester grades have been posted to the University Student Record System.
Students may request from their academic advisors a copy of their updated audit form during their advising visits.
Students prevented from registering through "HOLD" flag in their record MUST see their academic advisor to unlock the hold.
