
- No overrides for prerequisite courses to meet graduation requirements or otherwise will be permitted, unless due to registration restrictions;
"Required" IE courses currently listed in the Student Handbook will ONLY be offered in the listed semester (Fall or Spring). Electives may be offered any semester and is based on "student demand and interests" indicated the previous semester;
All IE students are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to read the IMIE Bulletin Board (SEB-- IE Office hallway) on a WEEKLY basis. Student employment opportunities, scholarships, academic issues, and current events are listed for the benefit of the students. You are responsible for issues that pertain to your enrollment and academic status;
All students are required to see their advisor at least three (3) times a semester;
The department is committed to improving the "quality" of the Senior Design projects and the process of completion. All projects MUST provide a deliverable that meets a specific objective and purpose. Each project should require sufficient time and effort of the student that satisfies the credit requirement "throughout" the IEGR498 semester. Please review the following guidelines:
a. Student must gain the approval of the instructor BEFORE registering for IEGR 496 Senior Design I. Failure to do so MAY result in a "F" grade;b. Student must complete and provide an oral presentation of their Senior Design I Proposal to the department for approval by the last day of class for IEGR 496. Failure to do so will result in an "Incomplete or F" grade and must be retaken;
c. Senior Design Course registration will take place ONLY ONCE and submitted by the department within ONE WEEK of the first day of classes of the semester;
d. All projects MUST have an industry sponsor or advisor before the final project is presented and completed in Senior Design II (IEGR 498);
e. Students will not be allowed to register for both courses in the same semester;
f. Senior Design Project II presentations must be completed at least ONE week before final grades submittal for graduating seniors;
g. All students are required to take the IE Comprehensive Examination as part of IEGR 498;
The Department encourages all students strive for the 3.0 GPA and above to improve their overall academic performance.
