Area Interest: Continuum Mechanics applied to Geomechanics Soil Mechanics, Soil Dynamics and Rock Mechanics Hydrology and Geohydrology Modeling of groundwater flow, contaminant and solute transport Applied Mathematics Hydraulics of flow through porous/fractured material Mechanics of compressible aquifer systems Land subsidence due to fluid withdrawal Water chemistry and quality control

Future Research: Environmental Engineering: Land Subsidence due to groundwater withdrawal, Groundwater contamination and solute transport, solid waste containment and management, etc. Environmental Geotechnique: Soil mechanics and soil dynamics with emphasis on environmental issue. Applications of Geosynthetics to geotechnical and transportation engineering.

Present Research: NASA Research Program: Laboratory studies in mechanics behavior of sedimentary material NTC Research Program: Experimental investigations in mechanics behavior of subgrade soils under traffic-induced loading
