The Infrastructure Support Education Program (ISEP), supported by the Office of Navl Research, provides academic support for students in the traditionally under-represented areas of Science, Engineering and Mathematics (SEM). Under the auspices of SEM, there are three programs, they are:

  1. SEM Summer Research/Trainee Program
  2. Freshman Sophomore Bridge Program
  3. Catch-Up

SEM Summer Research/Trainee Program provides financial support to Morgan State University (MSU) underrepresented minority students in Science, Engineering and Mathematics. The objective of this program is to:

  1. Increase the number of students who participate in undergraduate research
  2. Enhance student's learning and committment to their studies
  3. Increase the number of students attending graduate school
  4. Provide students with professional development training.

Finally, participants in this program gain research or technical experience under the supervision of a faculty member or professional mentor at an industrial governmental or university site.

The Freshman Sophomore Bridge Program is designed for Freshmen who will be entering their sophomore year in a SEM major. Participants are enrolled in Summer School in either Math 141(Pre-Calculus) or Math 241 (Calculus. Students are required to attend tutoring, professional seminars focused on professional development, computer training, and other activities design by the program manager.

The objective of the Summer Catch-Up Program is to fund SEM students who are deficient in the suggested program for their respective SEM curriculum by on average, one or two courses.
